GENERAL QUESTIONS

  • Q.  Who should use Eco Friendly paint?
  • A.   Elderly, pregnant woman, small children, offices and those with compromised immune systems or environmental allergies are especially sensitive to the effects of conventional paints.
  • Q. Should I use flat or eggshell paint?
  • A. Depending on the room and the amount of traffic it receives, typically rooms that are higher traffic areas like kitchens, baths and hallways should use eggshell finishes so wiping the walls down will be easier.
  • Q. When should you prime the walls before the paint is applied?
  • A. Primer is used to seal any bare wood, new drywall, water damaged areas and other stains.  Primer is not necessary if painting over previously painted walls
  • Q. Is a water borne/latex paint any better or worse then an oil based paint?
  • A.  There are far more advantages for using a latex paint over an oil based paint.  Latex dries faster, better fade resistant, will not yellow, resists mildew better and retains flexibility longer.  The main advantage of an oil based paint is the ability to use it in colder weather and it is more durable in high traffic areas.
  • Q. Should I wallpaper or faux finish my room?
  • A. This is a preference question.  When wallpapering a room you know that everything is going to be uniform throughout.  When you have a faux finish done you are getting a unique pattern on the walls that is going to have its own pattern.
